Lifelines

Lifelines are an important piece of safety equipment, which is why we always include them in our rig inspections. We only install uncoated wire instead of the vinyl coated wire that has been popular for many years. Vinyl coated wire became popular because it was more comfortable to grab with your hands and it wouldn’t chafe headsails as much as uncoated wire. The downside is that the vinyl coating traps moisture and causes premature corrosion of the wire inside. The potential hazards of vinyl coated lifelines are great enough that offshore race committees do not allows boats with vinyl coated lifelines to participate. Ensure the safety of your crew by having us inspect and replace your lifelines if necessary.
